Lemon
Bay Fest. 2010
Englewood
History with Zest
The week of February 6 - 13 was the Lemon Bay Fest week
designated Englewood History with Zest, designed to provide information
about the history and events that make up the community. Some of the programs
and events presented were:
Daily cruises on Lemon Bay from 2 -3:30 every day.
A Youth Photo Contest.
A live radio drama at the Historic Green Street Church.
Quilting and craft demonstrations at the Lemon Bay Woman's Club.
Talks. demonstrations and films at the Elsie Quirk and the Englewood Charlotte
Libraries
Walking tours of the Lemon Bay Park.
The week culminated with the Cracker Fair at the Pioneer Park on Dearborn
Street presented by the Lemon Bay Historical Society.
Weather conditions this year were below the average for
this time of the year but, nevertheless, the attendance at the events
were still very respectable. In the afternoon the sun came out, warmed
up the event and the crowd increased.
About 35 vendors displayed their wares or gave out information
about their business. Mark Chapman, above right, is the Editor of the
Englewood Edge - Englewood's only on-line newspaper.
