Englewood is located on beautiful Lemon Bay with access to the Gulf of Mexico through Stump Pass. The Intra-coastal Waterway also runs through Lemon Bay, which provides protective passage for boats from Norfolk, Virginia to Key West, Florida. Englewood has four beaches on the barrier island of Manasota Key, two in Sarasota County and two in Charlotte County.

The Lemon Bay Playhouse, on Dearborn Street, provides a variety of high-quality, live theatrical productions. Englewood Clubs. There are local chapters of the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post, Clyde E. Lassen Memorial VFW Post 10178, Englewood Eagles Aerie 3885, Englewood Elks Lodge 2378, Rotonda VFW Post 10476, and Loyal Order of Moose Gulf Coast Lodge 2554 located in Englewood. The YMCA is located near the Englewood Community Hospital.
