Englewood.

Englewood is located on beautiful Lemon Bay with access to the Gulf of Mexico through Stump Pass. The Intra-coastal Waterway also runs through Lemon Bay, which provides protective passage for boats from Norfolk, Virginia to Key West, Florida. Englewood has four beaches on the barrier island of Manasota Key, two in Sarasota County and two in Charlotte County.

 

Relocating to Englewood.

Englewood, Florida, has lots to offer for residents of all ages.
For the young families moving into the area Englewood has a number of day care child centers, 3 elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, An alternate private school is offered at the Heritage Christian Academy. For those students continuing their education there are two Technical Centers and two Junior Colleges offering two year degrees. Four year degree colleges are also not too far from home.

For the retiree, Englewood offers you a host of amenities in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy living in good health. The Englewood Community Hospital is the first accredited chest pain center in Southwest Florida and nationally recognized three times as a top 100 hospital. Besides walk-in clinics Englewood has a number of physicians, optometrists, dentists, surgeons, chiropractors, therapists, psychologists and podiatrists.

The Englewood - Cape Haze Area Chamber of Commerce Inc. is organized to encourage the development of responsible business and economic growth while enhancing the community.

Englewood also boasts two libraries, the Elsie Quirk Public Library on Dearborn Street - Sarasota County, or the Charlotte Public Library at the Tringali Center - Charlotte County. Visitors can purchase temporary full service cards or enjoy browsing the library and using the Internet connection.

The Arts & Culture are well represented for a small community. The Hermitage Artists' Retreat is located adjacent to Blind Pass Beach and attracts a variety of artists using different mediums. The Englewood Art Center, located on South McCall Road,offers classes and workshops for youths and adults in addition to Gallery Exhibitions. The Lemon Bay Playhouse, on Dearborn Street, provides a variety of high-quality, live theatrical productions.

Englewood Clubs. There are local chapters of the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post, Clyde E. Lassen Memorial VFW Post 10178, Englewood Eagles Aerie 3885, Englewood Elks Lodge 2378, Rotonda VFW Post 10476, and Loyal Order of Moose Gulf Coast Lodge 2554 located in Englewood. The YMCA is located near the Englewood Community Hospital.
