Winter Fine Arts Festival.

December 3rd & 4th were the dates for the winter Fine Arts Festival on Dearborn Street. The Arts Festival is sponsored by the Olde Englewood Village Assosciation. Weather for the event was more like summer with temperatures in the low 80's and no showers to mar the enjoyment.

Artist booths line Dearborn Street displaying their wares to potential customers. Laura Youngman of Ormand Beach, Florida, displays one of her paintings done in acrylic.
Members of the Men's Englewood Garden Club sell their plants with proceeds going to scholarships at Lemon Bay High School.

Fran Fink of Englewood displays one of her fine paintings of racing yatchs.

Linda Soderquist is another loacal artist who had her handiwork on display. A georgeous painting of an elephant in the wild won the Best in Show for Steve Kourz in the 2D category.
Steve Whitlock live in Sarasota and his subjects are game fish. A nice metal sculpture of a marlin adorns the booth of this artist.
The photography of Michael Mandell Michael lives in Pembroke Pines, Florida.
Michael Weber of Port St. Lucie shows off his paintings done in watercolor. Peggy Miller displays her collection of jewelery to a customer. Peggy hails from Melbourne Beach, Fla.
George Rhodes of Plantation, Florida, stands beside a photograph of a wild horse resting on the beach. The booth for the Southwest Historical Organization had many visitors seeking information about Englewood.
James Sears, one of the main organizers of this event, sits in the shade of a palm while visitors admire his sculptures. Each year he brings some amazing sculptues with him to the event, such as the one shown above.
Pat Foss of Rotonda West does 3-Dimensional paper scultures. More on her work, and her classes, can be found on her website. Ben Essenberg is an Englewood resident and one of the founders of the show. Ben is standing beside his painting of Sandhill cranes and their offspring. More art can be seen on his website
The Lemon Bay Historical Society had numerous visitors over the 2 day event. Jim Roberts love of fish is captured in his artwork. Visit his website by clicking here.
